This is where you can read about the different volunteer activities I’ve participated in, as well as post your own. On occasion, I will also post news from the non-profit and volunteer worlds. My hope is that this forum serves as a tool for new volunteers, to enable and encourage people to get involved in their community, by taking away the apprehension that often comes with trying something new. Feel free to discuss, ask questions, or suggest improvements for a better volunteer experience. Since my experiences are limited to New York City, I’d love to hear what people everywhere are doing..

I am VERY excited about getting started. If you followed my blog at all you could see I’ve spent the better part of the past ten years doing a lot of community service — and now that I’m here, I want to continue!
My orientation is on Tuesday of next week! Yay! Feel free to keep checking in on my blog — I’m sure there will be many posts to come about my experiences with New York Cares (and New York in general!).
